Today the Council presented a proposal to staff for a creche within UNOG grounds. The proposal was prepared by a group of Council members with assistance from members of administration. Participants were informed on the structure of the crechè, how it would function, staffing, building needs, possible locations and timelines.

It was made clear that this was an initial proposal that would need to be submitted to a consultancy firm to produce a final proposal that could be implemented. It was also mentioned that to be fully sure of sustainability in years to come, the consultant would need to make a thorough analysis of costs.

Participants welcomed the initiative. Questions focused on fees, timelines, choice of building and land use. The presentation made at the meeting is attached.
