We would like to thank all those of you who attended our May Day demonstration to protest against the current wave of job cuts and budget reductions throughout the UN system.
Around 500 people took part, and the protest received widespread media coverage. You can see a small selection of this coverage here:

The demonstration was also the lead item on the RTS evening news.
In many duty stations, 1 May is a holiday, making it more difficult to organize demonstrations of staff. However, events did happen in other locations: here are staff sending a message of solidarity from Myanmar and Thailand.
