As you may recall, last year the Ecuadorian Community in the UNOG held a collection – under the auspices of the Staff Coordinating Council – in favour of the victims of the earthquake that hit Ecuador in 2016.

The collection raised the amount of 15,931.04 Swiss Francs, which was matched by the Council to a total of 33,747 Swiss Francs, and transferred to the designated Organization, Caritas Switzerland.

Caritas has recently produced their report on how the funds have been used in Ecuador and how the lives of many have been improved after the earthquake.

Thanks to your generosity, 420 earthquake-affected vulnerable families (2’100 persons) now have better access to water and sanitation. You can click here to download the report and see how your contribution has helped others in need.

L’an passé, la communauté équatorienne à l’ONUG a organisé une collecte sous les auspices du Conseil de coordination du personnel, en faveur des victimes du tremblement de terre qui a frappé l’Équateur.

La collecte a récolté la somme de 15,931.04 francs suisses. Le Conseil a doublé la somme et un montant total de 33,747 francs suisses a été transféré à Caritas Suisse, l’entité désignée comme bénéficiaire. 

Caritas a élaboré un rapport sur l’utilisation des fonds en Équateur stipulant comment la vie d’un grand nombre de victimes a été améliorée.

Ainsi, grâce à votre générosité, 420 familles vulnérables (2’100 personnes), touchées par le tremblement de terre, ont désormais un meilleur accès à l’eau et à l’assainissement.
