UNCTAD staff reps and management promote flexible working arrangements
February 3, 2011

UNCTAD Secretary-General Supachai Panitchpakdi recently issued guidelines on the use of flexible working arrangements. These guidelines, which are in line with the organization’s policy on the matter, go some way to demystify and explain how to use and get the most from these arrangements.

The guidelines benefited from a survey by the Sectoral Assembly, which showed that while staff supported flexible working arrangements, they were scared that asking for them would be badly perceived. The Sectoral Assembly also played an important role in developing these guidelines.

It is hoped that similar initiatives will be undertaken across UNOG.
